This week on Trash Talk, the column where I scour Reddit for the most interesting video gaming topic: What game made you feel empty after completing it?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the highest rated response in the subreddit for this one; a worthy response, and while I agree with it I’m going to talk about a different game: Final Fantasy XV. This game immersed me immediately in its world and story, and I’ve played through it to completion four times since it released; loving it every time.

The ending hits like an emotional truck, with Noctis’ line of “Walk tall my friends” as a callback to what his father said to him before he left on his journey at the start of the game. Goddamn it I feel as if I’ve been written off whenever I hear it. The music is peerless as far as I’m concerned, even for a now nearly nine year old game, and there’s such a magic and gravity to the final handful of hours that tie a beautiful ribbon around the entire experience.

Let me know in the comments or on the Reddit thread what your pick would be!
