Tormented Souls 2 has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing its old-school survival horror to Nintendo’s latest console. Developed by Dual Effect and published by PQube, the game is available digitally and as a physical release across Europe and North America.

A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available, featuring the base game and two alternative outfits for protagonist Caroline Walker: the Rebel Biker outfit and Classic Caroline outfit.

Already own the standard edition? You can purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade separately, whether you’ve picked up the game physically or digitally.

To mark the Switch 2 launch, PQube has also released a new trailer showing off the game’s unsettling environments, twisted enemies and reality-bending puzzles.

A New Nightmare Awaits in Tormented Souls 2

Following the events at Wildberger Hospital, Caroline Walker is hoping for a quieter life with her sister, Anna. Unfortunately, things take another unpleasant turn when Anna begins experiencing disturbing visions that somehow become reality.

Their search for answers leads them to Villa Hess, a secluded town in southern Chile, and a mysterious clinic hiding something rather sinister.

When Anna is abducted by a cult, Caroline must explore the town, uncover its secrets and survive whatever horrors are lurking around the corner.

And there are plenty of those.

Villa Hess features a variety of unsettling locations, including a shadowy convent, an abandoned school and a derelict shopping mall. Each brings its own puzzles, enemies and mysteries to unravel.

Caroline can also use her supernatural abilities to enter the Other Side, a nightmarish alternate reality where changing the past can affect the present.

It’s a useful trick for uncovering new paths, although the creatures waiting on the other side aren’t exactly welcoming.

Classic Survival Horror With Some Modern Options

Tormented Souls 2 leans heavily into classic 90s survival horror, combining exploration, challenging puzzles and combat against some thoroughly unpleasant monsters.

Caroline can collect and modify makeshift weapons, including her pneumatic nailer and a chainsaw. A new quick-select system also lets players swap weapons during combat, which should come in handy when something with too many limbs decides to ruin your day.

Meanwhile, puzzles require players to examine objects, combine items and pay close attention to their surroundings. You’ll also encounter mysterious characters with their own motives as Caroline works towards uncovering the truth.

For those who enjoy survival horror the old-fashioned way, Tormented Souls 2 includes fixed camera angles, tank controls and limited saves.

However, an assisted mode is also available for players who prefer a more forgiving experience.

Tormented Souls 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, both digitally and physically in Europe and North America. The Digital Deluxe Edition and its standalone upgrade are also available from launch.
