Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass – Part 1: Bubbly Basin is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, adding a new underwater town packed with Pokémon, furniture, food and building options.
The Pokémon Company has also released the free Pokémon Pokopia version 2.0.0 update. It introduces the move Dive, letting players explore beneath the waves alongside Water-type Pokémon.
Build an Underwater Town in Bubbly Basin
Bubbly Basin is the first part of Pokémon Pokopia’s three-part paid Expansion Pass.
The new area takes players beneath the sea, where Pokémon have built a fully submerged town. Naturally, that means your usual building tricks need a little aquatic adjustment.
Players can use buoyant blocks to create structures that float at different underwater levels. Pokémon with the Generate specialty can also power bubble machines and switch on streetlights.
Meanwhile, Pokémon with the Water specialty can help grow watermelons. Even beneath the ocean, someone still has to keep the fruit supply going.
As per the press release, Bubbly Basin also includes new Pokémon, outfits, furniture and food. Players can also unlock a power-up for Surf while exploring the area.
There is even a Sharpedo submarine to build. It can be used to create a room designed to feel like a Secret Base, which sounds considerably more exciting than adding another ordinary spare room.
Pokémon Pokopia Update 2.0.0 Adds Dive and Manaphy
The free Pokémon Pokopia version 2.0.0 update is available to all players.
The update introduces the Mythical Water-type Pokémon Manaphy, which teaches players the newly added move Dive.
Dive allows players to swim underwater with Water-type Pokémon, explore new submerged areas and build structures beneath the surface.
