HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is out now on Steam, bringing players back into its hand-drawn world of demons, tactical combat and deeply questionable supernatural deals.

French developer Ars Goetia and publisher Dear Villagers have launched the dark fantasy dungeon crawler for $19.99/€19.99. A 15% discount is also available during the first week after release.

A bigger and darker return to HellSlave

HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon builds on the original game with a larger, darker and more ambitious adventure.

Solo developer Baptiste Miny says the sequel reflects player feedback from the first title while still aiming to deliver a few surprises.

As per the press release, the game offers a more open and immersive take on its handcrafted Demon World. Players will explore ruined villages, dungeons and sanctuaries while completing quests, collecting loot and uncovering hidden lore.

So, plenty of sightseeing, assuming your ideal holiday includes demons and total societal collapse.

Build your demon-slaying character

The story begins after thousands of years of demonic warfare have devastated the world.

Six demon lords remain trapped in an endless conflict, leaving the heavens to send down the Archon of Judgment. Unfortunately, this supposedly unstoppable force appears interested in destroying absolutely everything.

Players can choose from six character classes, including a spectral assassin and a plague-bearing mage.

New Demonic Powers also expand the customisation system. These abilities come from corruption linked to the Demon Lords and unlock new skills across flexible talent trees.

Mixing classes, skills and powers will play a major role in surviving the game’s tougher encounters.

Time matters in every battle

HellSlave II retains the turn-based combat system from the original game, although it now includes new mechanics and improvements.

Every action takes time, forcing players to balance aggression with survival. Charging in without a plan may work briefly, but probably not for very long.

Outside combat, players can travel across a top-down overworld before entering dungeons and other dangerous locations.

HellSlave II: Judgment of the Archon is available now on PC via Steam for $19.99/€19.99. A 15% launch discount runs throughout the game’s first week.
