FEED IT, a first-person PSX-style horror game from Italian developer Games On A Chair and indie publisher Pretty Soon, launches on Steam on August 17.

As per the press release, FEED IT is built around one deeply unpleasant idea: you live with an insatiable monster, and it always wants feeding. Your job is to survive, stay sane, and hopefully find a way out before your new housemate turns the situation into a very messy tenancy dispute.

Games On A Chair’s first commercial release, FEED IT takes inspiration from psychological horror classics such as Silent Hill and Mouthwashing. However, it twists the usual formula by making the monster less of a simple enemy and more of a terrifying dependency.

FEED IT Makes Survival Horribly Personal

Rather than fighting the monster directly, players are trapped in a symbiotic relationship with it. You must obey its demands or face its wrath. Easy enough, then, except you also have your own needs to manage.

That creates the central dilemma. Do you feed yourself so you have enough strength to escape? Or do you try to satisfy the monster’s endless hunger and avoid whatever punishment it has in mind?

Either way, your choices matter. FEED IT places pressure on players through exploration, limited interaction, and the constant feeling that something is very wrong. Which, to be fair, is usually the correct feeling when there is an all-consuming monster in the building.

A Short, Replayable Horror Experience

FEED IT is designed as a short-form, replayable experience. Players will explore maze-like locations in search of food while trying to understand the shifting world around them.

The game leans into a series of unsettling questions. Where are you? Who are you? Who is knocking at the door? And, most importantly, can you actually escape?

First announced in May 2026, FEED IT quickly gained traction with horror fans. According to the press release, the game picked up several thousand Steam wishlists and early praise from genre fans.

The team at Games On A Chair said the game has come from “a deeply personal place” and hopes it will resonate with players. Judging by the premise, it might also make them deeply suspicious of anything asking for a snack.
