Bandai Namco has revealed more gameplay for DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3, giving fans a fresh look at West City, AGE 1000, and the next big leap for the long-running action RPG series.
Set 10 years after the previous game in the series, DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 drops players into a completely new Dragon Ball world created by Akira Toriyama. This new setting, known as AGE 1000, invites players to create their own hero and carve out their place in an unexplored Dragon Ball era.
The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam in 2027.
We’re Heading To West City
As per the press release, the latest DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 Welcome to West City trailer introduces players to the vibrant new hub of West City.
Here, players will explore fresh stories, meet familiar faces, and take their first steps into life at West City University. The trailer also features Bulma and Gamma 1, who welcomes players into the ranks of the Great Saiya Squad.
Naturally, this being Dragon Ball, you are not just popping in for lectures and awkward campus small talk. Players will create their own protagonist and fight alongside beloved Dragon Ball characters while meeting new faces making their franchise debut.
Those original characters include Brett, Lilica, ROM, and Tap.
Soul Switch And Soul Assist Bring New Power To Combat
Combat in DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 builds on the series’ high-speed action, with players able to soar through West City, boost across battlefields, and fire off chunky Ki Attacks like subtlety was never an option.
The new Soul Assist system lets players unleash a powerful attack alongside an ally from the Dragon Ball universe. Meanwhile, Soul Switch allows players to temporarily harness the soul of a Dragon Ball character to gain new abilities in battle.
Confirmed examples include Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Tien. So yes, borrowing power from legendary warriors is very much on the menu.
Bandai Namco says more details on this new entry in the DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE series will be revealed in the months ahead.
