Netmarble has released a major new update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, bringing Mage of Infinity Merlin to the anime open world RPG alongside a fresh region, new story content, events, raids, pets, crafting recipes, and more.
As per the press release, Merlin joins the roster as a versatile battlemage. She is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins and bears the mark of the Boar Sin of Gluttony. She is also known for her vast knowledge and endless pursuit of truth, which is a very Merlin way of saying she probably knows exactly why your build is wrong.
The update is live now and gives players plenty to dig into, whether they are chasing rewards, exploring desert ruins, or testing Merlin’s combat styles.
Mage Of Infinity Merlin joins The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
Merlin can use three weapon types: Grimoire, Wand, and Staff. Each one changes how she plays in battle.
With Grimoire equipped, Merlin acts as a main damage dealer and uses the Frost Mark effect. Meanwhile, Staff allows her to summon clones, helping her activate Buster skills more reliably.
To celebrate Merlin’s arrival, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is running events with various rewards up for grabs. These include Merlin’s exclusive Grimoire, Sacred Treasure: Morning Star Aldan.
So yes, the new hero arrives with both magical flair and a very shiny bit of kit.
Act 14, Sealed Sanctuary, and new events arrive
The update also expands the main story with Act 14, The Snare of Time. In this new chapter, players follow clues from My Sweet Gluttony, explore desert ruins, and uncover the secrets of Taranis.
Alongside the new story content, Netmarble has added a new region called Sealed Sanctuary. Hidden behind fierce sandstorms, this mysterious ruin introduces seven new gathering materials, giving open-world explorers even more reasons to poke around every suspicious corner.
Additional content includes the new raid dungeon Taranis’s Sanctuary, plus the expansion of Timespace Junction to Sectors 5 and 6. Players can also find two new hidden pets and use new crafting recipes.
The update also eases growth difficulty. Players can now obtain elite boss rewards without using Cube Keys, which should make progression feel a little less like fighting the final boss with a wooden spoon.
A check-in event is also available. By logging in, players can earn rewards such as Special Mastery EXP, Hero Pick Up Draw Tickets, and Brilliant Engraving Seal. The event offers 100 Star Fragments every day for 14 days, adding up to 1,400 Star Fragments in total.
Players can also take part in a Merlin Trial event and Conqueror’s Path, where tokens earned through missions can be exchanged for selected rewards.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is based on the hit Japanese manga and anime IP The Seven Deadly Sins, which has sold over 55 million copies globally. The game lets players explore Britannia in a vast open world, with tag-based combat, combination skills, custom teams, varied characters, and multiple weapons.
Multiplayer features also let players form parties for exploration or team up to defeat bosses. With Merlin now in the mix, Britannia has just gained another powerful reason to log back in.
