Skunx Games has dropped the first gameplay trailer for Dark Pals: The 1st Floor, giving us a better look at its mascot horror puzzle adventure vibes and the unsettling place it all happens in. As per the press release, you can also play a demo during Steam Next Fest, running 24 February to 2 March.
If you like your puzzles with a side of “please don’t move when I blink”, this one’s lining up nicely.
A new gameplay trailer shows off puzzles, mascots, and ink-powered weirdness
The newly revealed gameplay trailer focuses on the game’s core loop: environmental puzzles, exploration, and the creepy mascot creatures roaming an abandoned children’s mental health asylum.
It also gives a closer look at the facility itself, plus the game’s ink-powered mechanics and the “something’s not right here” forces hanging around the walls. You know. Normal abandoned-asylum stuff.
Steam Next Fest demo runs 24 Feb to 2 March
Want to poke around the place yourself? The Dark Pals: The 1st Floor demo will be live during Steam Next Fest (24 February to 2 March). It includes a section of the asylum, introduces the key puzzle mechanics, and leans into environmental storytelling. There’s also an early encounter with the strange presence inside the facility, which sounds like the game politely warning you to keep your torch handy.
Meet Inky the Ink Blaster, your cute little problem solver
In Dark Pals: The 1st Floor, you explore the asylum with Inky the Ink Blaster, a mysterious companion that appears through an ink-shooting toy gun. Together, you’ll solve puzzles, unlock new areas, and start piecing together what happened inside the institution, and why it was abandoned in the late 80s.
