Winter warfare just got a lot more intense in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. KRAFTON has dropped Update 39.2, turning up the frost factor in Erangel: Subzero with new weather hazards, gear, and a fresh twist on high-risk zones. The update is live now on PC, with console players getting in on the action from January 15.

Here’s what’s new:

Blizzards Are Back and Meaner Than Ever

First introduced in December, Erangel: Subzero now hits harder with thick whiteouts and ramped-up blizzard effects. Visibility’s down, tension’s up. Whether you’re in Normal, Ranked, or Custom matches, you’ll need to think fast or freeze.

New Danger Zone – Satellite Crash

Say goodbye to the Red Zone in Subzero. In its place, satellites now crash into the map mid-match. They deal serious impact damage and trigger mini Blue Zones where they land. Risky? Absolutely. But the loot is worth it-if you survive.

New Survival Tools from the Skies

Those crashed satellites aren’t just dangerous-they’re useful. You’ll find new winter gear like the Frost Zone Bomb, which creates a freezing Blue Zone to mess with enemies, and the Thermal Protection Suit, which shields you from the cold (though it wears down as you take damage).

More Tweaks and Fixes Across the Board

Beyond Erangel, Rondo gets some love with better loot spawns, especially in Secret Rooms. On PC, a new secondary password replaces SMS verification for Ranked mode, making accounts a bit more secure.

Quality of Life Improvements

Expect cleaner TDM notifications, a new Survivor Pass, higher salvage limits in the Hideout, and the usual round of bug fixes.
