Square Enix is reviving one of its most beloved crossover series with DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY, a brand-new entry in the Dissidia universe, heading to iOS and Android in 2026. As per the press release, players eager to get an early taste can sign up now for the Android Closed Beta Test, running 6–14 November 2025 (PST) in the US and Canada. Registration is open until 28 October 2025.
A New Kind of Final Fantasy Clash
DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY brings familiar heroes and villains from across the Final Fantasy series into a fresh format: 3v3 team boss battles. Two teams face off in fast-paced arena fights packed with roaming monsters, racing to take down massive bosses before their opponents do.
This new take on Dissidia mixes simple, one-hand controls with striking cel-shaded visuals, letting players experience flashy action without the finger gymnastics.
When Final Fantasy Meets Modern Tokyo
In a stylish twist, Dissidia Duellum trades its usual fantasy battlegrounds for modern-day Tokyo, where a mysterious glowing crystal has become part of everyday life—until it isn’t. When dark energy begins corrupting the crystal and unleashing monsters, a new group of warriors emerges from across time and worlds. Known only as “Ghosts,” these heroes fight to restore balance before fading back into the crowd.
The game’s main story is fully voiced in Japanese, with short side episodes offering peeks into the warriors’ everyday lives. Each ability and story moment is backed by original artwork from an impressive lineup of artists, adding that signature Final Fantasy flair.
Closed Beta, Competitions, and Crystal Energy
The Android Closed Beta Test will run daily between 7:00 p.m. and 12:59 a.m. (PST) / 3:00 a.m. and 8:59 a.m. (UTC).
