SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio just dropped a massive bombshell during the RGG Summit 2025: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is coming February 12, 2026. That’s right – you’re getting a full remake of Yakuza 3 bundled with Dark Ties, an entirely new spin-off starring none other than Yakuza 3’s smooth-talking antagonist, Yoshitaka Mine.
It’s all part of the series’ 20th anniversary celebrations, and honestly? This two-for-one package is shaping up to be an absolute knockout.
A Legend Reborn, A Legacy Begins
First up, Yakuza Kiwami 3. Kazuma Kiryu and Haruka are trying to live a quiet life running the Morning Glory Orphanage in Okinawa – but obviously, nothing is ever that simple. The government and the yakuza want their slice of beachfront paradise, and once again, Kiryu’s fists are the only negotiation tools that matter.
The remake’s built from scratch with new cutscenes, fresh side stories, and plenty of excuses to get lost in Okinawa and Kamurocho all over again. Combat fans, take note:
- Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami style – raw power, series-high number of techniques, pure dominance.
- Ryukyu Style – a flashy, weapon-based martial art with eight different weapons and a ton of combo potential.
Oh, and there’s even a biker gang mode called “Legendary Baddie, Bad Boy Dragon”, where you build your ultimate crew alongside the Ryukyu Gal Gang. Kiryu, gang leader? Sign us up.
Dark Ties: The Rise of Mine
Now here’s the curveball – Dark Ties puts Yoshitaka Mine in the spotlight. For the first time ever, you’ll get to play as the man himself, tracing his journey from corporate big shot to yakuza heavyweight. Expect a boxing-inspired combat system, a darker story, and some downright brutal extras:
- Dark Awakening mode – go full beast mode with ruthless combos and devastating finishers.
- Hell’s Arena – underground brawling at its finest, complete with survival gauntlets and dungeon crawls.
Mine may be known as the “cool-headed” one, but here? He’s finally cutting loose.

Pre-Orders, Editions, and Extras
Early birds who pre-order either physical or digital will snag the “Ryukyu Gal Gang – Ichiban Legendary Lad” DLC, letting Ichiban Kasuga ride with your biker gang in that new mode.
The Digital Deluxe Edition stacks on more goodies: extra characters, customisation packs, bonus tracks, even a DLC “Legendary BGM CD Set.” Not ready to go Deluxe from the start? You can always grab the upgrade later.
More 20th Anniversary Surprises
That’s not all from RGG Studio’s party bag. Ahead of this February launch, fans can revisit the journey with:
- Yakuza Kiwami & Yakuza Kiwami 2 hitting Nintendo Switch 2 on November 13, 2025, then landing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) with added languages on December 8.
- Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut (already on Switch 2) making its way to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 8.
And just to tease us further, RGG Studio also shared a sneak peek at their next project: STRANGER THAN HEAVEN. Consider our curiosity well and truly piqued.
When and Where to Play
Mark your calendars: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches worldwide on 12 February 2026. You’ll be able to dive in on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Whether you’re ready to revisit Okinawa with Kiryu or step into Mine’s sharp suit for the first time, this two-in-one package is set to deliver both nostalgia and something brand new. It’s the perfect way to celebrate 20 years of the Like a Dragon / Yakuza saga – fists flying, biker gangs roaring, and plenty of drama on the streets of Kamurocho.
