Fancy being strapped to a bomb while one of your so-called mates secretly plots your downfall? That’s the pitch behind Cut That Wire, a brand-new multiplayer bluffing and social deduction game from Waka Studio, heading to Steam in 2025. The Steam page has just gone live, so yes—you can start wishlisting right now.

Tick, tick, BOOM

Each match throws you and three friends into a locked room with ticking explosives attached to your chests. One lucky player gets to be the Engineer, with a hint about which wire is safe to cut. Another, less lucky player is the hidden imposter, quietly trying to lead the group into fatal mistakes. Everyone else? Just nervous wrecks praying they don’t snip the wrong line.

Rounds are built around “Big Bluff” mini-games—quickfire challenges like dodgy drawings, sneaky memory tests, and risky card swaps—all designed to smoke out the traitor. Win or lose, the tension never stops thanks to the bomb’s ever-dwindling clock.

The wire decides, the clock deceives

Once the dust settles on each mini-game, it’s vote time. Suspicions fly, accusations mount, and someone gets forced to cut a wire. If you pick right, the imposter goes boom. Pick wrong, and the nightmare keeps going. The Engineer can try to nudge everyone toward safety, but convincing your pals is another battle entirely.

Waka Studio’s Pisorn and Jirawat Chungviwatanant summed it up neatly: “Every wire cut matters, and every second counts in the fight to defuse the bombs.” Sounds about right.
