Ready to squish some more bugs? Patch 1.6 for Starship Troopers: Extermination is locked and loaded, bringing the biggest shakeup to the battlefield since launch. Titled Critical Strike, this new update throws players into the fire with a fresh mode, revamped bug spawning, deadly new weapons, and more exoskeletons than you can shake a Morita at.
New Game Mode: Critical Strike
Time to suit up. In Critical Strike, four squads drop separately into bug-infested zones and must survive long enough to regroup and rearm. Your objective? Reach the meteorite crash site and recover the rare Archnigeon while fending off some of the nastiest Arachnids the galaxy can throw at you. Forget backup. Forget mercy. Just survive and blast your way through.
Bug Holes and Spawning Rework
No more predictable waves. Bugs now crawl out of volatile new Bug Holes, which must be located and nuked before they overrun the map. The revamped spawning system means nastier swarms, better pacing, and an even bloodier battlefield.
Say Hello to the M-55 Nuke
Want to leave a crater where bugs used to be? Grab the new M-55 Power Weapon, a rocket launcher designed to turn entire hordes into crispy ex-bugs. Timing it right is everything. Fire and forget at your own risk.
Quality of Life Upgrades and Bug Fixes
Of course, no patch would be complete without squashing a few of the… other kind of bugs. Expect smoother gameplay, balance tweaks, and less jank all around.
Starship Troopers: Extermination is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Patch 1.6 is live, so call your squad, check your ammo, and remember — service guarantees citizenship.
