Dust off those helmets (especially if you’re a Roman), because Asterix & Obelix are hitting the road in Mission Babylon, the latest slap-happy side-scrolling adventure from Microids and Balio Studio. Launching October 30th on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, our favourite indomitable duo are trading the forests of Gaul for the sandy, mysterious East—and naturally, they’re bringing chaos with them.
Bye Bye, Armorica. Hello, Parthia!
In Mission Babylon, Caesar’s up to his old tricks again—this time plotting in the distant Parthian Empire. When the local king, Monipehni, gets poisoned by some dodgy magic courtesy of a new villain, Bahmbuhzeli (who we already hate, just from the name), it’s up to Asterix and Obelix to find the cure, flatten a few cohorts, and maybe throw in a camel joke or two.
It’s a journey through deserts, palaces, and, yes, Babylon itself—packed with traps, secrets, and big boss brawls that’ll leave players grinning (and Romans airborne).
2 Gauls, 1 Mission, Plenty of Smacks
Whether you’re playing solo or grabbing a mate for couch co-op, Mission Babylon is all about punchy platforming fun. The levels are replayable, the bosses are massive, and the visuals pop with comic-book flair. There are four brand-new regions, 20+ stages, and all the whacky humor we’ve come to expect from Asterix and co.
Think big moustaches, bigger punches, and beautifully bonkers level design. Perfect.
