Aggelos, the 2D retro-styled action adventure by PQube, LookAtMyGame and developers Storybird Games and Wonderboy Bobi, receives a free update today that adds Hard Mode for an additional level of difficulty. Also, players can now choose more languages to play in, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.

The dynamic and diverse movement options make Aggelos a challenging homage to the legendary era of Japanese non-linear 16-bit titles and give players the tools for spectacular and creative combos that feel incredibly satisfying to pull off and offers a level of mobility which sets Aggelos apart from other homages to the Sega classics. To cater even more towards veterans of this genre and further improve replayability, Hard Mode offers a real difference in how players approach the game. They will now face enemies that deal more damage, have greater movement speed, higher attack rate and shoot additional projectiles.

But this is only one of many features:

A vast kingdom to explore
Venture through forests, seas, cave systems and ancient temples to uncover magical elements.

A classical non-linear adventure
Explore a sprawling world that gradually reveals itself, Metroidvania-style, as you gain new abilities and equipment.

Deadly encounters
Thwart towering bosses and their tricky minions as you take on perilous mainline quests and optional odd-jobs.

Tactical depth
Unlock magical abilities and high-level attacks, expertly chaining these immense powers together.

Stunning sprite art
Boasting superlative character designs and animations, the adventure proudly remains its 16-bit style through and through.

Memorable chiptunes
Lose yourself to a retro-inspired soundtrack that floods the Kingdom of Lumen with life.

Aggelos is available on PC via Steam for $14.99 / £11.39 / €12.49 and will also release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon in 2018.
