Oh boy this is going to be embarrassing, the games on this list are ones that I have never played or know anything about. Why? Well, I don’t know really, I guess I never really had the time to get into them but anyways here are my top 5 games that I have always wanted to get into.

5) Final Fantasy

Please don’t hate me on this, but Final Fantasy is one of those games that I never got around to – Starting in the late 80’s, the original Final Fantasy started on the Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES for short), and at this time I had not been born yet..! I was still a twinkle in my dad’s eye, so it’s kind of obvious that I could not of played them; moving onto the 90s when I was born I started out with a Sega Mega Drive, and never really got any Nintendo systems bar from the Gameboy, so really I had no reason to play these titles – As each new game came out I felt it was getting harder for me to get into the franchise as each passing year brought out different ways to play, different stories to experience and different characters to enjoy… And even now I’m so overwhelmed with how many games there are I just don’t know where to start.

4) Ratchet and Clank

Yes I know one of the big names for the playstation 2, a game that spawned mainly sequels and spin off titles and now a re-make of the first how on earth didn’t I play it? Quite simple, I was too engaged with Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Sly Cooper and my personal favourite Simpsons Hit and Run (and obviously a lot more than that). Really it was just a matter of finding the time to play a brand new franchise and as a child I was quite contented with what I had so in essence I was too lazy to play it. Literally that was it, laziness, I am not proud of it but at least I played a little bit of the re-make I guess.

3) God of War

Jesus Christ I have always wanted to play this franchise, and with PSnow having all the God of War games, I feel that now is the perfect time to play them. I have always wanted to be a God murdering, hateful being (Yes, I know he has a sad background story) that can destroy anything and now with the new addition to the God of War series, God of War (Great naming conventions), I am now desperate to play as Kratos and to fight like him… Maybe this week I might give it a go; who knows?!

2) Castlevaina

Another franchise that Joe especially has been harping on for years for me to play is Castlevania – Despite Konami’s latest dabbling (Or lack thereof), I still have a deep interest in this series – I’ve always been a big fan of horror and mythology, so to see a game blend the two together into a castle-faring, demon-stomping adventure just seems wicked! I’ve been advised to start with the Metroidvania titles first, with Symphony of the Night, and since the franchise has all-but-halted, I can finally get into this classic series!

1) Persona / Shin Megami Tensei

Although I’ve played some parts of Persona 5, the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei games have always been my number one franchises that I must play… Simply due to the dark stories each one had, and the difficulty! If you know me, then you will know I love horrifyingly dark stories that tackle difficult themes with lovable (And hatable) characters. It has always been on my mind to play them but I just don’t know where to start… Considering Persona is like a spin off series of Shin Megami Tensei, and share the same Demons, I don’t know which games to start of with or even where to with, being either Persona, Digital Devil Saga or Shin Megami Tensei… Maybe you could help me decide in the comments?
